Chico Women's Club at 592 E. 3rd street
Talks are free and open to the public.

Journey to Haida Gwaii on the North Pacific Coast of Canada with local artist and photographer, Christine Connerly, on Sunday, March 10th from 4-5 pm at the Chico Women’s Club.

When traveling, making art or taking photographs, local artist, Christine Connerly, sees the world through an anthropological lens. Her passion for art, nature and a deeper understanding of cultural traditions lead her to the islands of Haida Gwaii, where she was taken by their stunning natural beauty. Through her photographic lens and mindful observance, Christine explored the island and the Haida Cultural Centre at Kay Llnagaay, where the living culture of the Haida people is celebrated. Learn about her experience at the Centre, which is located on an ancient village site and designed to resemble the traditional oceanside Haida village that once stood in its place.

World Explorations is a free lecture series sponsored by the Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology. The talk is open to the public.
