The fall application deadline is May 31, 2024. Chico State is accepting undergraduate applications from domestic first-time in college students, lower- and upper-division transfers, returning students, and second-bachelor's students. 

 

How to Apply for First-Time and Transfer

  1. Complete Your Application
    Applications to Chico State are completed online through Cal State Apply.
  2. Check Your Status
    After applying, log in to your Portal and navigate to the Student Center to check your admission status.
  3. Accept Admissions Offer
    Once you have been offered admission, commit to Chico State by submitting your intent to enroll.

  • General Application Questions

    What does residency mean?
    Read more on our residency page.

    What if I want to apply to more than one campus?
    You'll use Cal State Apply to apply to all California State University (CSU) campuses of your choosing. Select all campuses and program to which you wish to apply.

    What identifying numbers do I use?
    Use your social security number, if you have one, omitting dashes.
    You can also enter your SSID and/or campus ID if you have one, though this is optional.

  • Issues with Cal State Apply

    Have your CAS ID# when contacting Cal State Apply. It can be found in the upper-right corner of your application.

  • Making Changes to Your Application
    • Submit an application changes form (PDF) or call the Admissions Office to notify us of changes to your application.
    • Changes include:
      • D or F grades
      • address changes, email, or phone number changes
      • changes to your major
  • Decision Timeline and Application Status
    • Applicants will be notified of admission status by April 1 on the Chico State Portal and via email. Your Chico State Portal is the first place to see your decision.

    • International and internationally educated students must have all required documents submitted by March 1.
    • We may request additional information in order to make a decision. Please check your email regularly to make sure you don't miss a request.
