Accessibility Resource Center

Alex Garcia

Alex Garcia is the Testing Coordinator for Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) at Chico State. In this role, he ensures that students registered with ARC receive approved accommodations for their exams. Working alongside his team of proctors, he oversees a distraction-reduced testing environment, providing services such as extended time, accessible furniture, assistive technology, scribes, and readers.

Beyond testing accommodations, Alex collaborates with ARC’s University Housing Liaison and University Housing to help coordinate housing accommodations including Emotional Support Animals (ESAs). With nearly 15 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities, Alex remains passionate about empowering students and fostering accessibility.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Food Science from Chico State. He is actively involved in the Neurodiversity and Disability Faculty and Staff Association, where he values the opportunity to support and advocate for neurodiverse students.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys camping with family, rock climbing, golf, and exploring philosophy and theology.
