Carter Moore is an Accessibility Advisor for Chico State’s Accessibility Resource Center (ARC), where he is dedicated to ensuring students with disabilities receive the support they need to thrive academically. He assesses student needs through interactive intake meetings and documentation review, determines eligibility, and facilitates reasonable accommodations to promote equitable access to education.
Beyond direct student support, Carter is actively involved in outreach efforts and new student orientation. He also collaborates with Chico State’s ADA Coordinator to ensure that all campus lawn-based events meet accessibility standards. With over 30 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, he brings a wealth of knowledge, advocacy, and compassion to the ARC team.
Carter also serves as the ARC liaison for the College of Humanities and Fine Arts and the College of Business, fostering strong partnerships to enhance student success in these disciplines. Additionally, he is deeply involved in campus initiatives, serving as a member of the Neurodiversity and Disability Faculty and Staff Association, the Transgender Taskforce, and the University Police Public Safety Advisory Committee.
A proud Chico State alumnus (English, ’91), Carter has called Chico home since 1986. When not supporting students, he enjoys spending time with family, birding, biking, hiking, drinking coffee, working in his yard, and embracing the joys and challenges of life with ADHD. He currently resides in Chico with his wife, adult child (a current Chico State student), mother, mother-in-law, and beloved dog, Puka.
