Is ARC Still Open?

Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) is here for you! Please contact us with questions regarding accommodations via email (arcdept@csuchico.edu) or phone (530-898-5959). For technological accommodation questions, please contact the Office of Accessible Technology and Services (OATS) via email (oats@csuchico.edu) or phone (530-898-6532).

Will ARC Be Open And Available For Testers Who Need Additional Support Or Specialized Services?

Proctoring Services:

We are unable to provide in-person proctoring services until further notice. Please continue to make your exam request through the Service Request Portal, but DO NOT CLICK THE ONLINE EXAM BOX. Please be aware that instructors are doing their best and if your accommodation time has not been extended on Blackboard (or another format), please email your instructor as soon as possible and cc arcdept@csuchico.edu so that we are aware of the issue. Also, establish a distraction reduced environment prior to beginning your exam.

Kurzweil:

Kurzweil exams cannot be provided at this time. We are trying to find a resolution for Kurzweil testing online. However, if you would like your exam read aloud to you, please see the information below to make the request.

Reader Services:

If you have Reader Services or Kurzweil as an accommodation, please make your exam request through the Service Request Portal and send an email to arcdept@csuchico.edu with the following details:

Instructor:

Exam date:

Exam time:

You will then be contacted with a Zoom appointment time for the exam with a staff member as your reader.

If I Use A Note Taker, Will I Still Have A Note Taker For Online Instruction?

If you were utilizing note taker services for in-person instruction, you may continue to do so for online instruction. Please contact your note taker directly to make arrangements with them. If you are unable to contact your note taker, please email arcdept@csuchico.edu and cc Cathy Carey at cecarey@csuchico.edu. Please include the following information:

How Can Students Access Their ARC Advisor?

ARC advisors are available via ZOOM or phone appointment. Please email your ARC advisor directly or arcdept@csuchico.edu.

How Do I Extend An ARC Student’s Exam Time On Blackboard?

Please visit the Technology and Learning Program (TLP) website and click “Keep Teaching Webinars” for trainings on how to transition from face-to-face to remote modalities.

If I Already Sent An Exam To ARC, What Will Happen To It?

We will hold all printed taken and intake exams in the ARC office to ensure academic integrity until campus re-opens.

Can Students Who Are Not Registered With ARC Test In Our Office For Missed Exams?

Unfortunately, we are only able to accommodate students who are fully registered with our services. If a student is interested in applying, please have them visit the ARC website and click “Apply Here.”

Do I Need To Request Online Tests Through The Service Request Portal?

Yes. Please keep using the Service Request Portal but DO NOT CLICK THE ONLINE EXAM BOX. That way we can see if you have requested the exam and if it has been approved.

How Do I Access Kurzweil Or Other Specialized Accommodations?

What If My Time Is Not Extended On BlackBoard For A Quiz Or Exam?

If you notice it before you start the test, please contact your instructor immediately and email our Testing Coordinator, Nicole Clift, at nkclift@csuchico.edu.

If you have already started the test, please continue and do your best.  Follow up immediately with your instructor and Nicole.
