Robert Herhusky

Robert Herhusky is a sculptor who works primarily in cast glass and wood. He believes art works—that it functions in a way that makes contact with the body. He feel that careful making and sculptural concern can wed compelling object with compelling idea. His work over the last several years has been concerned with the shameless destruction of the temperate rain forest of the North American continent. His activities as a carpenter and builder have always informed his sculptural work; however, issues of conscience and ethical concerns have redirected his current work toward the environmental and cultural impacts of a trade he loves and knows quite thoroughly.
