Southern California native Brian McNamara entered ceramics by way of community college. During his studies he explored his identity through the use of cartoons, world building, and monsters. Identity politics and self-discovery through exploration of his mixed heritage would eventually be the basis for his thesis work for his Masters in Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art and Architecture in Philadelphia, PA. He has since shown work in galleries around Philadelphia and New York City.
