Housing Assistance (Rapid Rehousing)
Need Help with Housing?
If you do not have a safe or stable place to live or are behind on your rent, Chico State Basic Needs may be able to help.
Housing Assistance provides support for students experiencing homelessness, housing instability, or an unexpected housing crisis. Support may include:
- Emergency shelter
- Short-term housing
- Rental assistance
- Help finding housing
- Referrals to campus and community resources
Housing Assistance May Be Available If You:
- Are behind on rent or have received a notice from your landlord
- Are at risk of eviction or losing your housing
- Are experiencing homelessness
- Are staying temporarily with friends or family because you lost your housing
- Are living in your car or another place not meant for housing
- Are leaving an unsafe living situation
- Are facing a housing crisis due to an unexpected financial hardship, natural disaster, or other emergency
Eligibility
To receive Housing Assistance, you must:
- Be currently enrolled at Chico State;
- Be experiencing a housing crisis or housing instability; and
- Meet with a Basic Needs Case Manager to discuss your situation and available options
How to Apply
- Complete the Application for Assistance and select: "Housing Assistance: Support for those without stable housing." This can include emergency shelter, short-term housing, or rental help.
- After you submit your application, book an appointment with a Case Manager.
