Honor Year: 1995

Hank Marsh was a 1970 graduate of Chico State. He went on to pursue his law degree at UC Davis, graduating in 1973. He was awarded the prestigious School of Law Medal. Hank practiced law with his father, Matt, in Chico, until his father's death in 1992. The practice specialized in education and construction law. In addition to his practice, Hank spent his career lecturing about the law at Butte College and UC Davis, representing many non-profit organizations in the Chico community pro bono and authoring several publications. Marsh also lectured at both Chico State and Butte Community College.

Hank was a long-time member and past president of the Durham Rotary, a member and past president of the UCD Law School Board of Governors, member and Chair of the State Bar of California Resolutions Committee, member of the Board of Governors of CSU, Chico Foundation.

Because of his long-time service and dedication to the community and public education, in November, 1999, the Chico Unified School District dedicated the new junior high school in his memory. Harry M. "Hank" Marsh Junior High School stands as a proud monument to this exceptional local figure.
