Bridge III: Student Mentors

As a Game Changer Mentor, you will serve as an advocate, resource specialist, and peer advisor for Hispanic/Latinx and Low-Income (HLI) students. Essentially, you will be assigned a mini-cohort of ten students with whom you will meet with during scheduled office hours or connect with through Zoom discussions or online study sessions.

As a Game Changer Mentor, you will gain professional work experience in mentoring students via group, one-on-one, and virtual meetings by:

  • Assisting students in recognizing their academic strengths, areas to improve, and goal setting for courses.
  • Providing information on academic policies and procedures, Degree Progress Report and Smart Planner tools to facilitate completion of degree audit each semester.
  • Providing information on financial literacy topics (e.g., budget management; college funding).
  • Supporting students in all aspects of navigating their college experience!
