Karlie Garcia
My name is Karlie Garcia and I am a graduate student at Chico State. I am earning my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education. I recently graduated with my B.A. in Child Development in 2017 from Chico State. This year, I was honored to be awarded with the Rawlins Scholarship Award. It means so much to me to be able to get some financial assistance to help pay for my education. In addition to going to school full time, I am a student athlete and run cross country and track for Chico State. Last year, the girls and boys team placed 4th in the nation in cross country and won the CCAA conference championships in both cross country and track! It is extremely rewarding and special to be part of such a supportive and dedicated team. As for my future, I hope to work somewhere in the field of education; however, I am still exploring what type of job I would like to do specifically. For now, I am committed to furthering my education and running for Chico State.
