What does instruction look like for Fall 2021?

We know that you probably have a few concerns going into the Fall 2021 semester, and we are here to help clear up any confusion.

Our number 1 priority is your health and safety and, as such, CAGD will be offering our students options in academic instruction for Fall 2021.

Please note that for classes that require team projects, there is a larger likelihood that these will only be offered in an online format in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

What are ChicoFlex and ChicoFlex-Rotating?

As a means of slowly transitioning back to completely face-to-face modes of instruction, for Fall 2021, Chico State will be introducing programs called ChicoFlex and ChicoFlex-Rotating(opens in new window) which hybridize both in-person and online modes of instruction.

With this system, groups of students will be able to engage in rotating face-to-face sessions while simultaneously learning online. All in-person class sessions will have a max capacity on the number of students in the classroom and will not only require facial coverings but also abide by social distancing guidelines.

To clarify times and dates for in-person sessions, instructors will be in contact with students prior to the first class meeting of the fall semester. Should you have any more questions about the modes of instruction for Fall 2021, do not hesitate to reach out to our office at
