On Campus COVID-19 Booster Clinics December 8 & 9

Announced on: Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021

Dear Campus Community,

Earlier this month, the CDC expanded eligibility for COVID-19 booster shots to anyone 18 or older who:

· Received their second shot of either Pfizer or Moderna more than six months ago.

· Received their single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine more than two months ago.

To make it convenient for students and employees and help keep our campus as safe as possible, Chico State has partnered with RITE Aid to offer on-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinics on December 8 & 9 in the BMU from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (room 203). The clinic is open to the public and Chico State students and employees are encouraged to bring their friends and family. Recipients will be allowed to "mix and match," meaning individuals can now choose a different vaccine than their original shot(s).

The clinic will also provide Pfizer and Moderna first and second doses for anyone who isn't yet fully vaccinated.

COVID-19 vaccines can prevent hospitalization and serious illness and are essential for preventing widespread outbreaks within our community. But research suggests protection begins to fade about six months after vaccination. That's why Chico State is encouraging everyone to get a booster shot as soon as they are eligible.
