Rebound Scholars meets Fridays 5:30pm for rest of semester -in person or zoom

Announced on: Thursday, Apr. 07, 2022

Are you a justice-impacted* Chico State student, faculty, or staff member and/or an advocate for those impacted by the justice system?

Are you interested in:

  • Meeting others on campus like you?

  • Getting more resources at Chico State for justice-impacted students?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, then Rebound Scholars is for you!

Rebound Scholars is a new student organization created by justice-impacted students to support justice-impacted students through peer support and through developing university-wide supports, similar to what many of the other CSU campuses have. We welcome justice-impacted students and advocates and also staff and faculty who are justice-impacted/interested in advocating for justice-impacted students.

Come join us every Friday from 5:30-6:30pm in ARTS 106 through May 6.

If you can't make it in-person you can join us via Zoom

Meeting ID: 873 2535 9426. Passcode: rebound

*Rebound Scholars defines justice-impacted as formerly incarcerated and/or system-impacted, using the definitions from the Underground Scholars Language Guide for Communicating About Those Involved in the Carceral System.

  • Formerly Incarcerated Person refers to anyone who has been in a carceral setting (prison, immigration detention centers, local jails, juvenile detention centers, etc.) and is now released.
  • System Impacted includes those who have been incarcerated, those with arrests/convictions but no incarceration and those who have been directly impacted by a loved one being incarcerated.
