The College of Agriculture and The Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology, in association with the new Deeply Rooted exhibition, brings Soil Artist and Soil Scientist Kirsten Kurtz to Chico State on May 4th. Kirsten draws on her artistic background and love of soil science to develop a more creative perception of soil as a natural resource, combining soil science with art. Come learn about the incredible universe of soil and the vital role it plays across global ecosystems and art. Public Presentation on May 4th, 12:30pm in Colusa 100B. Presentation followed by a Community Paint outdoors in front of Plumas Hall from 2-4pm. Join in and create art together using local soil pigments.
