Changes in Crime & Society? What Scholars are Arguing about 'Decarceration Trends' and 'Defund the Police'

In the last few years, the COVID 19 pandemic reshaped the world in important ways. The criminalizing system has been deeply impacted. But what exactly happened? Is there an actual decarceration trend in the US, and if so, where is it happening? How are scholars interpreting the "Defund the Police" social movement? More than 30 graduating seniors of the "Criminal Justice" major spent the semester researching these two issues, and report their findings.
