Facilities Management and Services (FMS) will perform a 3-day electrical system shutdown to complete scheduled maintenance and various project support functions for new building construction and solar panel metering. The shutdown is planned to start at 12:01 a.m. on June 9 through 11:59 p.m. on June 11 and impacts all buildings supplied by the central electrical system, a majority of the campus. For affected buildings, there will be no building access and most lighting and power will be off during the daylight hours. Additionally, the elevator systems in affected buildings will cease operation and will not turn back on until work has been completed on Sunday, June 11. Please do not try to access them. The following buildings WILL NOT be affected by the shutdown: Portions of the following buildings WILL remain on limited back-up/emergency-power: During the shutoff, primary campus servers will be on backup power and will operate as normal, so remote employees should not experience disruptions in remote-access service. However, on-campus desktops will lose power and should be shut down prior to leaving on Thursday. Employees accessing those desk tops remotely will experience service disruptions for the duration of the power shutoff. Off-campus desktops will not be affected. Although emergency power generators will remain on for critical systems, if you require other support, please ensure your department's temporary power needs are requested as soon as possible via an FMS work request referencing the central, 12KV power shutdown.
