Setting Up Canvas Assignments & Gradebook

Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, 12–1 p.m.

This session will provide faculty the opportunity to effectively set up their assignments and gradebook before the semester gets started to create the best possible workflow for faculty and students throughout the semester.

Learning objectives - At the end of this workshop faculty will be able to:

• Create new assignments and assignment groups

• Know the four different places from which you can create assignments

• Determine the difference between a due date and availability date

• Explore settings options for assignments: four different grading options, four different submission types, rubrics, grades visibility, how to weight grade categories using assignment group, rules and exceptions (such as dropping lowest scores in a category)
