Seal of Excelencia: An Overview

Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, 11 a.m.–noon

In AY 2023-24, Chico State will engage in a cross-divisional effort to assess how well we serve Latinx students with intentionality and effectiveness. Using the Seal of Excelencia Framework development by national leaders, Excelencia in Education, we will examine how we have strived to go beyond enrollment to more intentionally SERVE Latinx students and become an institution where Latinx students thrive.

Please join this informational session to learn more about the Seal of Excelencia – the framework, assessment components, our process plan, and the opportunity to seek national certification.

All are welcome, yet this session is encouraged for:

• campus administrators and unit, department, program or student service leaders;
• practitioners advancing student success through enrollment, transfer, retention, financial supports, and completion;
• those involved in the recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of faculty and staff;
• those who use disaggregated data to inform institutional effectiveness; and
• campus equity champions!
