Meriam Library utilizes Library of Congress Subject headings (LCSH) like many academic libraries across the United States to help make finding information easier.

These terms usually reflect United States attitudes and can become politically charged, even in the recent past. Join Meriam Library and the Dream Center to learn about the student activists who lobbied Congress to change the LCSH term "i****** alien" when we watch the documentary film Change the Subject October 18th in the Meriam Library First floor Research Commons.
