Geography Awareness Week 2023

The Department of Geography & Planning is proud to host International Geography Awareness Week 2023, November 13-17, 2023. The National Geographic Society created this week-long event in 1987 by U.S. presidential proclamation. It's now recognized in 140 countries around the world.

Check out our interdisciplinary events, displays, and special resources to celebrate Geography: the Science of Where. Also, you're invited to catch up with the geography student club, Latitude 39, for fun social events and outings. All majors are welcome. BTW, Chico State is situated at 39 degrees north latitude, hence the club name!
