Hosted by the Office of Graduate Studies, the 38th Annual Student Research Symposium is designed to promote and recognize excellence in student scholarly research and creative activities. This annual symposium gives undergrad and graduate students from across campus the opportunity to present their research or creative work in one of three ways:

  • 3-Minute Presentation: Students from across disciplines and research stages are encouraged to present their work in a 3-minute elevator-style presentation.
  • 10-Minute Presentation: Students with advanced or completed work are encouraged to present their research or creative project in a more formal presentation. Ten Chico State winners will also be selected to compete at the CSU Statewide Competition.
  • Poster Session: Students at any academic level and from all areas of study are welcome to share their research with visually engaging posters.

The symposium also helps students develop their presentation and communication skills as they showcase their work. For some students, participation in the symposium can also be noted on resumes and applications for advanced degrees as career-advancing professional development.

All students are welcome to participate. The application deadline is Wednesday, February 21, by 11:59 p.m.

For more information about the different presentations and how to apply to participate, please go to the Student Research Symposium website.
