You are cordially invited to join us for a groundbreaking of the new University Services Building at 11:30 a.m. TODAY, March 14, in the FMS Yard. President Steve Perez, campus leaders, and FMS representatives will join individuals from Swinerton and Dreyfuss + Blackford Architecture for a brief program and ceremony. This new building, slated to open in early 2025, will serve as a valuable hub for Facilities Management and Services, Risk Management, and Environmental Health and Safety. We are thrilled that it will be the first mass timber building in the California State University. This novel construction concept doubles as a structural system and interior finish, reducing materials and costs while lowering its carbon footprint. Other energy- and resource-saving features include daylit-workspaces and interior layout flexibility—upholding Chico State's priority of sustainable and resilient systems. Questions may be directed to project manager Stephanie A Nixon at sanixon@csuchico.edu or ext. 3882. View the livestream of current activities.
