Honor the work of American labor leader and civil rights activist César Chávez at Cats in the Community during the Associated Students' annual day of service on Monday, April ,1 from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event, which provides students and staff the opportunity to give back to the local Chico community through community service, will feature 5+ volunteer sites including The Boys and Girls Club, Paradise Recreation and Park District, and the City of Chico. Are you passionate about preserving green spaces and nurturing nature? Join the Paradise Recreation and Parks team in our mission to care for 217 newly planted trees, ensuring they thrive and flourish before the summer heat sets in. You can help make a difference in the rebuilding of Paradise after the Camp Fire. Volunteers are asked to pre-register before the event via GivePulse. Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Housing Courtyard (near The HUB). Transportation to non-walkable sites will be provided. Free coffee and breakfast burritos will be available to those who register in advance. This event is hosted by the Associated Students through Community Action Volunteers in Education (CAVE).
