"Racial Capitalism, Relational Racism, and World Systems: A History of Section 14" This conversation will be about the evolving research on the Black community in Palm Springs and Section 14, which was a BIPOC community violently razed by the city in the 1960s, how the development and maintenance of Palm Springs (a wealthy tourist mecca) required cheap labor and stolen land from BIPOC workers in the early to mid-twentieth century.
