I CAN HELP is designed for students, faculty, staff, and other non-mental health professionals to assess, assist, and prevent suicide among peers and community. This 2.5 hour training equips participants with easy to use tools for responding to students in distress, without overwhelming the helper with all the aspects of mental health training and counseling. In this gentle and interactive workshop, participants will learn how to become comfortable with the subject of suicide, identify warning signs of serious distress, understand important factors to consider, and receive resources for next steps. Learn how you can help others in a safe, empathetic, and effective way, by joining us for this powerful training. This training will be facilitated by WellCat Counseling Center faculty. Additional trainings are coming this Fall! Watch the announcements for more details. Dates include: Watch for future dates, and sign up via CatsConnect!
