First Annual Project Rebound Graduation

Sunday, May 19, 2024, 1–4 p.m.
Sylvesters 100

Project Rebound is a new student success program for Chico State students who are formerly incarcerated or system-involved*. On May 19, 2004 we will be honoring students who have graduated in the past 3 years (since the 21-22 academic year) and enjoying some food.

Please join us on May 19 at 1pm in Sylvesters 100

You must register to attend this event. There are two different ways to register. Pick the one most relevant to you:

  • If you are formerly incarcerated or system involved and are graduating this year or you have graduated in the past 3 years we would love for you to participate in our graduation ceremony. Please register using this link so that we can celebrate your accomplishment https://forms.office.com/r/3zg0LA5ZmD. The deadline to register is April 26.

We hope to see you all there!

* Definitions

  • Formerly Incarcerated -includes those who have been sentenced and served time in a carceral institution (prison, immigration detention centers, local jails, juvenile detention centers, etc.) and are now released.

  • System involved - includes those who have been involved in the carceral system but have not been sentenced to a carceral institution (for example, multiple juvenile and/or adult arrests, multiple 5150s, convictions with or without short jail stays and/or with or without court mandated supervision, etc.).

Chico State Project Rebound uses terminology adapted from UC Berkeley Underground Scholars and San Francisco State Project Rebound. While those sentenced to a carceral institution can also be system involved, Chico State Project Rebound's funding is based on organizing participants in one category.
