New Workplace Violence Prevention Program

Announced on: Thursday, June 27, 2024

As part of the University's commitment to improving safety and to meet the updated requirements of Labor Code 6401.9, Chico State has formally established a Workplace Violence Prevention Program (WVPP).

While most of its components have long been in place, the Workplace Violence Program is composed of several parts: the written plan, the violence incident log, and workplace violence prevention training. The written plan is available for all members of the campus community through the Campus Safety webpage, as well as the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs webpage.

Additionally, the California State University Chancellor's Office Systemwide Learning and Development Department developed required training using Skillsoft and customized content that will be assigned to all employees via CSU Learn, with a 30-day completion requirement. The mandatory training has a 1-year certification so it must be completed on an annual basis.

If you have any questions about the program, training, or general safety, please contact EHS at ehsadmin@csuchico.edu.
