Staff Academic Award - application deadline Monday at 5pm

The deadline to apply for Staff Council's Staff Academic Award for Fall 2024 is this coming Monday, September 30, 2024, at 5:00pm.

Please submit all applications using the Online Application Form.

The purpose of this award is to assist a Chico State staff employee in furthering their educational goals. An academic award of $1,000[1] is given each spring and fall to a staff employee. The award is sponsored by Chico State Administration and the University Foundation Board of Governors.

Eligibility:

An applicant MUST be:

• Currently employed on a half-time or greater basis as a staff member of Chico State, Associated Students, University Foundation or Chico State Enterprises.
• Attending or planning to attend an accredited institution of higher education and enrolled in classes for the semester in which they are applying.

The following are NOT ELIGIBLE for the academic staff award:

• A student employee
• MPP or Faculty Member
• A current member of the Staff Council Executive Committee
• A current member of the Staff Council Recognition Screening Committee
• A recipient within the past 24 months

When submitting your application, please make sure you have the following ready to upload:

• A cover letter stating your academic and career goals and objectives, and the purpose for the requested funds (two pages or less)
• Two letters of recommendation
• Resume
• Unofficial transcripts, Program Map, Degree Plan and/or Professional Development Plan (optional)
