Prevent Stormwater Contamination - Protect Our Creek

Announced on: Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024

Now that the rains are returning, we need to remember that "when stormwater flows, everything goes" – straight into Big Chico Creek, that is. When rainwater flows across campus during and after a storm, what's on our lawns, roads, buildings, and parking lots flow with it. Think oils and grease on the pavement, food wrappers and litter left on the ground, pet waste not bagged and picked up. Stormwater is the largest contributor of water quality pollution to urban waterways in the U.S. Let's do our part and keep our creek clean. Please don't litter, clean up after your pets, and report anything unusual in the creek to EHS.
