Process Advisor Training

Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, 9 a.m.–noon
Zoom

Please join Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Office of Equal Opportunity and Dispute Resolution (Title IX) for a training on the role of Process Advisors on Monday, November 18, from 9:00am – 12:00pm via Zoom. Register for the training here.

This in-depth training will provide a detailed look at the Student Conduct and Title IX/DHR Investigative Processes, highlighting the role of a volunteer Process Advisor in supporting students.

The role of a Process Advisor is to:

  • Meet prior to a meeting or hearing to assist with preparedness
  • Answer questions
  • Explain procedures
  • Provide silent support during meetings and hearings
  • Make sure the student's expressed needs are being addressed during interviews and hearings
  • Assist the student in accessing other available university resources
  • To optionally process meetings and hearings one-on-one after they conclude

To become a Process Advisor, you should be an MPP or an SSP IV, however, anyone is welcome to attend this training to learn more about the important processes and procedures on our campus.

Please be aware that Process Advisors are often exposed to difficult and uncomfortable conversations due to the sensitive subject matter involved (especially in Title IX/DHR-related cases).

Please contact Student Rights and Responsibilities (srr@csuchico.edu) or EODR (titleix@csuchico.edu) with any questions. We look forward to seeing you at the training!
