Transgender Day of Remembrance

Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Chico State's Transgender Task Force would like to invite the university community to attend Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) which is coming up on Wednesday, November 20th.

On this day each year, we honor the lives lost to anti-Trans violence by reading the names of those who were taken from us in the past year, lighting candles, and sharing a community altar with pictures of those lost, to which all are invited to add notes, art, flowers, fruit, or anything else you feel called to leave in love.

The Stonewall Alliance of Chico's TDOR will be held at a new location this year: 330 Wall St. #20, inside Latimer & Kenkel Law. The community altar will be set up on Monday, Nov 18th at 3pm and open for visits - which are in a quiet, non-public space - from 5-7pm on Monday and Tuesday as well as 3 - 6pm Wednesday.

On Wednesday the 20th, we ask volunteers to join us in helping to set up for the service from 4-6pm. All community is invited to gather at 6:30, and we will begin the memorial service at 7pm. Volunteers are also needed to stay after the service and help clean up from 8:30 until 9pm.
