Black Resource Center

Mission Statement
The Black Resource Center at Chico State welcomes all students. The Center creates a community that celebrates Black Excellence and empowers students by providing a supportive environment for academic excellence and personal growth. We offer an active study space, academic resources, peer mentoring, and study skills workshops to enhance academic abilities. By fostering connections with faculty and staff, we nurture a vibrant, inclusive community where every student can thrive and achieve their full potential. Our mission is to foster intellectual exploration and achievement through educational initiatives, scholarship, research, and professional development. We address the intellectual, mental, spiritual, and physical needs of our students, equipping them with the skills needed for success within and beyond our campus.
At Chico State, we strive to create an inclusive environment where all students, regardless of race, culture, sex, ethnicity, or national origin, are welcomed and celebrated. Our events are open to everyone, and we encourage diverse participation to foster a space of respect, learning, and community for all.
