"Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope." -Maya Angelou
Emily Yin
Cultural Programmer
Emily is a dual degree fourth-year student, studying ESBM and Asian Studies with the goal of one day opening up her own cat cafe. Born in the coastal city of Long Beach and moving to the small city of Modesto, she has been up and down around California her whole life. Recently, Emily studied abroad in Osaka, Japan, and will be more than happy to talk with you about her experience. Her interests are learning to cook global foods, playing video and board games, and taking photos.
She has been a part of the APIDA team previously during her second year, having worked on it's iconic Asian Night Market, the mental wellness-focused "Tea Time" workshops, various Asian-centered culture events and more. This will be her second year, so she has plans to improve her skills and help put on impactful events, as well as keeping the APIDA Resource Center fun and friendly. If you come by, feel free to get comfortable and study and chat in a quiet part of campus, take some snacks, and get to feel at home.
