Cross-Cultural Leadership Center

Mahraya Davis

Lead Cultural Programmer
Mahraya is a senior at Chico State, majoring in Child Development. Originally from Washington State, she spent most of her formative years in San Diego, where she worked in elementary schools and actively advocated for more inclusive and equitable classroom environments. Her passion for education and equity informs her future goals: teaching high school history and eventually pursuing a doctorate to teach at the university level.

Coming from a mixed, biracial household, Mahraya has navigated the complexities of identity from a young age. Growing up surrounded by people who didn’t always reflect her experiences, she often felt disconnected. Finding community through spaces like the Black Resource Center was transformative—it provided her with both a sense of belonging and a platform to help others explore and embrace their identities.

Outside of academics and advocacy, Mahraya enjoys spending her free time outdoors and exploring creativity. She loves hiking, nature walks, thrifting, digging through vinyl at record stores, listening to music, attending concerts, reading, and practicing yoga.
