Andrea Itzel Velazco Quiroz

This is Andrea Itzel Velazco Quiroz, you can call her Andrea or Drea. She was born in Los Banos California, and was raised in Morelia Michoacan, Mexico. Her first language is Spanish and she started learning English when she moved back to the USA in August 2021. She chose Chico State because at first when she visited, she really liked the place, the people and because it offers the field she wants to specialize in. She is in her third year at Chico State, starting her major in Recording Arts. She started being part of the club Sueno de las Estrellas Ballet Folklorico in her first year in the university, she learned more and the differences about her culture, and she was able to find a community where she felt comfortable. Her second year at the club she took the secretary position.
Starting a new chapter of her life at university was a big change for Drea, but it has helped her learn more, not only about the language but also about life, people, and herself.
She really loves to sing, dance, and hang out with people.
