Ermelindo Salgado Hernandez
Greetings, everyone! Meet Ermelindo, also known as Ermy, a second-year Master of Social Work candidate from San Diego, California. With a Bachelor of Arts in Multicultural and Gender Studies, Ermelindo is a passionate advocate for social justice, serving as a democratic leader, activist, innovator, and dedicated to creating inclusive and safe environments. Driven by a commitment to social justice, Ermelindo aspires to impact higher education and pursue a Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D) to focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
Ermelindo has worked on campus as an Inclusion and Cultural Program Coordinator at the CCLC. As an Adelante Mentor, Ermelindo provided invaluable guidance to undergraduates navigating graduate school. Furthermore, Ermelindo had the privilege of spearheading the STEM Peer Mentoring Program as Program Coordinator, overseeing 12 mentors and emphasizing empowerment, a socio-emotional approach, and evidence-based practices.
Apart from his academic and advocacy pursuits, Ermelindo is also a coffee lover. You'll often find him indulging in a cup of caffeine to fuel his day. When he's not sipping his favorite beverage, Ermelindo loves to explore the outdoors and connect with nature. Above all, Ermelindo treasures his time with his close friends, whether it's sharing a laugh or making memories that will last a lifetime.
