Introducing Kiara! She's in her second year of her two-year master's program in Social Work. Coming from the small-town of Colusa, CA, Kiara is a proud Chico State alumna, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. Kiara identifies as a first-generation student, fostering youth, Latina, and ally, each shaping her perspective and driving her commitment to meaningful change. With a dedication to inclusivity, diversity, social justice, and community building, Kiara embodies a commitment to positive change.
Throughout her time at Chico State, Kiara has assumed various roles across campus. From serving as a student lead for Safe Place to collaborating with professors on research, her contributions have been diverse and impactful. You may also know her as a familiar face, having served as a Summer Orientation Leader, extending a warm welcome to incoming and transfer students, and fostering a sense of belonging within the university community.
Among her aspirations, Kiara’s desire is to pursue a doctoral degree and delve into the realm of higher education. Her vision includes contributing her education and life experience to university environments. Kiara hopes to make a lasting impact on students by assisting them in realizing their dreams and reaching their full potential.
