Selena is a 4th year currently majoring in Pre-Social Work and double minoring in Multicultural Gender Studies and Gender and Sexualities Studies. She is applying for the BSW Sequence this fall and plans to change her minor in Multicultural Gender Studies to a Major. She aspires to become a Social Worker or someone who works with youths from a disadvantaged background. Selena attended her first CCLC Diversity Summit during her Sophomore year and ever since then, she has been a part of many CCLC programs and events as a participant, facilitator, and ally. Now as a paraprofessional, Selena aspires to create transformational opportunities for students while supporting, uplifting and empowering them. Just like the CCLC, she believes in the potential of its students and empowering them to create the change they wish to see in themselves.

Selena’s goal for this year is to have a year filled with growth, new opportunities, adventures, and a lot of happiness and love. She is ready to learn more, do more, and be more. One of her favorite quotes is, “I stand on the sacrifices of a million women before me thinking what can I do to make this mountain taller so the women after me can see farther ”  legacy - rupi kaur.
