She graduated with a BS in Marine and Coastal Ecology from CSU Monterey Bay and was involved in Greek Life on campus. During her time in college, she started working at a youth center and summer camp where she found her passion of building leaders.

Raquel has worked in Paradise with the Boys & Girls Club of the North Valley, and with Butte County Behavioral Health- Prevention Unit to build young leaders and create positive projects of changes on local school campuses. She started working at the CCLC in mid-Fall 2020 and has enjoyed working with college student leaders on campus.

She sits on the Social Justice & Equity Committee on behalf of the CCLC, is an advisor for Zeta Sigma Chi and Pacific Islanders Club on campus.  Raquel hopes to continue to make students feel like they belong on Chico State campus and have a voice for their education.
