Datacenter Network Upgrade

Campus Network Infrastructure Projects

The Common Network Initiative (CNI) is an ongoing effort to maintain campus baseline network infrastructure as technology advances and user needs evolve. The program provides for the refresh of each campus network infrastructure on a cyclical basis to ensure that the network infrastructure continues to keep pace with technology and meet the changing needs of CSU students, faculty, and staff.

Datacenter Network Upgrade

The networks serving the main datacenters will be upgraded to new switches, allowing for more growth and providing 40Gbps speeds between the datacenters.


Early to Late Summer, beginning at the start of the new Fiscal Year and continuing through the Summer.


Many major campus services will experience a momentary interruption as servers are transitioned to the new hardware.
