Student Organizations
A variety of student professional organizations are available to students majoring in civil engineering at CSU, Chico. Listed following are the organizations affiliated with the Department of Civil Engineering.
All student organizations in the Department of Civil Engineering must conform to the policies and procedures that have been approved by the university.
American Society of Civil Engineers
The ASCE is the principal student professional organization in the Department of Civil Engineering. Links are provided below to:

Institute of Transportation Engineers
The ITE student chapter is a professional organization for students interested in careers in transportation engineering.
Structural Engineers Society of Central California
The SEAOCC student chapter is a professional organization for students interested in careers in structural engineering.
This student professional organization is most closely affiliated with the regional SEAOCC(opens in new window) professional society and the American Institute of Steel Construction,(opens in new window) and typically competes in two competitions each year - the SEAOCC Student Design Competition and the ASCE/AISC Student Steel Bridge Competition.
Sustainable Engineering and Environmental Health for Development
The SEEHD student chapter is a professional organization for students interested in careers in environmental engineering and is particularly active in the application of appropriate technology in developing countries. This student organization was previously affiliated with Engineers Without Borders.
