Critical Steps in Hiring Process

You should already have received this document by email, but consult it and make sure all your bases are covered.

Wildcat Card (ID Card)
Get your ID Card as a number of accounts and/or services rely on it — including the Portal ID below.
Go here: IT Support Services, Meriam Library 142 (hours)
More information: Wildcat FAQs

Portal ID & Email

You will need to get these two (related) accounts set up immediately. Your Portal ID is the username/ password that will allow you access to internal Chico State website resources.
Faculty email is by default set up on MS Exchange (Outlook); this is your official university email address (yourname@csuchico.edu). You also have a WildcatMail account, which uses a Gmail interface and gives you access to Google apps (yourname@mail.csuchico.edu). Note that these are two distinct and separate email accounts.

Blackboard Learn

Once you have your Portal ID, you should have access to Blackboard Learn. This is the learning management system our campus uses. During orientation, the nice people at the Technology & Learning Program (TLP) will assist you in setting up your courses, rosters, and gradebooks on Blackboard. The TLP also offers workshops and one-on-one consultations year-round.
