Participants double their farmers’ market food dollars and get more fruits and vegetables
Thanks to a generous grant from the Ecology Center of Berkeley and its Market Match program, the CHC at Chico State is now proudly partnering with these farmers’ market organizations:
- Shasta Growers Association
- Chico Certified Farmers’ Market
- Slow Food Shasta Cascade
- Red Bluff Chamber of Commerce
Carefully targeted Market Match nutrition incentives help low-income Butte County residents stretch their CalFresh shopping dollars to afford more healthful, locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables. As a direct result, the program also supports small and mid-sized local farms and boosts the local economy.
Here's how to get twice as much healthy food for you and your family:
- Look for the Market Match sign at the market’s information booth
- Use your CalFresh and have your benefits doubled*
- Buy more fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables
*CalFresh is matched dollar for dollar, up to a maximum amount, per family, per market day.
