Chico State Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative (MSTI)

Are you interested in becoming a math or science teacher? Apply for the Chico State MSTI program and get a leg up! Program scholarships are also available.

The California State University (CSU) is the state's largest producer of mathematics and science teachers. The CSU Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative (MSTI) represents their commitment to increasing CSU annual production of credentialed teachers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

The objective of the Chico State MSTI program is to increase the total number of math and science students enrolling in undergraduate or post-baccalaureate teacher preparation programs.

Chico State MSTI and advisors help future math and science teachers through the subject matter preparation, credential program application process, financial aid information and opportunities for scholarships, and credential examination preparation resources. We encourage and support students in all majors and from diverse backgrounds to look into our program.

Teaching needs everyone!
