Job Description:
The Chemistry Stockroom Student Assistant role is to assist the Stockroom Technicians by performing duties that may include:
  • Organizing, packing, and labeling equipment and glassware
  • Loading, unloading, or stacking materials, boxes, or containers
  • Assisting with disassembly and reassembly of equipment as well as using hand or power tools
  • Preparing chemical solutions
  • Preparing and trouble-shooting equipment for laboratory use
  • Cleaning glassware, equipment, and the stockroom
  • Sanitizing stockroom and instructional areas
  • Cleaning and setting-up lab rooms
  • Assisting with checkout of lab equipment to students and faculty
  • Using mathematical and scientific equations when appropriate for laboratory settings
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a student at CSU, Chico enrolled in a minimum of 6 units. Hours will be assigned according to availability and stockroom needs.
  • Completion of Chem 107, 108, or 111 with a B- or better. Or current enrollment in Chem 107, 108, or 111 with an expected grade of B- or better.
