Alumni Association News
It is with great pleasure that I serve as president of the Alumni Association. I have big shoes to fill. I look forward to serving each of you and hearing your ideas for making the association the best it can be. I would also like to recognize and congratulate our four newest board members: Tom Carter (’70), Bob Kohen (’66, ’70), Megan Odom (’02), and Nicholas Spangler (’04, ’08). Welcome to the board!
The Alumni Association held many fun and well-attended events this spring. One of the most exciting events sponsored by the association is the Senior Send-Off, which celebrates graduating seniors with an afternoon of music, games, and lunch. This year, the association held a drawing for a Chico State Wildcat Cruiser. Alumni Association board members individually contributed to fund the purchase of a cruiser, given away to a graduating senior. I want to personally thank the board for their generosity and congratulate Danielle Jeangerard (’14) on winning her very own Wildcat Cruiser!

In addition to the many exciting campus events, the Alumni Association has been on the road this year with events in Seattle; New York City; Washington, D.C.; and Long Beach. Over the summer, we will also host Giants game events in San Francisco and San Diego. To learn more about upcoming events, please visit www.csuchico.edu/alumni and our official Facebook page, Chico State Alumni Association. You can also stay up to date by following us on Twitter, @ChicoStateAlum.
While you do not have to be a dues-paying member of the Alumni Association to participate in our activities, I hope you will consider making a commitment of $45 a year ($750 for life membership) to enjoy association benefits (go to page 32 to sign up). Your commitment also supports current students and the University, and helps us engage with our alumni. It’s time to give back to the University that gave so much to you. The Chico Experience is what unites us and is something that you could have only received at Chico State!
