Psychology (PSYC)—Provides scientific knowledge and personal insight about human behavior to be used to promote human welfare (21 units; many courses double count in the Child Development Major).

Family Relations (Social Science)—Provides an interdisciplinary approach to a study of the family, the current state of knowledge relating to family relations, sex role expectations, and child socialization (21 units).

Special Education (Education)— Provides early integration of experience and concept attainment critical to the preparation of future general or special education teachers and other professionals interested in working with special populations. Students will acquire background knowledge regarding special populations, including specific learning disabilities, mild/moderate intellectual disabilities, other health impairments, serious emotional disturbance, autism, deaf-blindness, and/or multiple disabilities. (20 units).
