Ways to Give

Give to Scholarships

The College of Communication and Education, in partnership with alumni, parents, friends, and industry, is committed to providing opportunities, through scholarships, to those students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and/or financial need. The college awards more than 100 student scholarships each year. Applications can be obtained online through the Scholarship Office.

Annual Fund Gifts

Unrestricted gifts of $25 or more support the general operations and unfunded priorities of the College of Communication and Education.

Students in yolo

The College of Communication and Education Annual Fund for Excellence was established in 1990 to encourage and recognize the loyalty and support of alumni, parents, and friends. Annual Fund gifts, which are primarily unrestricted (meaning the donor allows the college to determine how the money is used), relieve the burden on student fees and assist with the college’s daily needs.

The stronger the College of Communication and Education Annual Fund for Excellence, the better equipped the college is to provide an outstanding educational environment for students and to address Chico State’s most urgent needs such as student scholarships, computer upgrades, and classroom and laboratory renovations.

Your generosity to the University and your participation in the College of Communication and Education Annual Fund for Excellence enable current students to receive a learning experience of the highest quality.

Named Endowed Gifts

Gifts of $10,000 or more create endowed funds in areas such as student scholarships, faculty chairs, faculty research, and academic excellence.

Endowments are gifts established as permanent funds which provide annual income for a specific program or purpose, such as scholarships, professorships, or program centers. These endowed funds can be named for the donor or anyone else the donor wishes to designate. Permanent recognition is given on campus for these endowed funds, which will have a direct impact on Chico State for countless future generations.

Planned Gifts

Providing for the future well-being of family, and, at the same time, supporting the mission of the University can be accomplished by a variety of gifts known as planned gifts.

Planned gifts, such as bequests and income-producing gifts, can provide benefits to family now and in the future, and are gifts that will live on, benefiting Chico State for many generations. Other gift opportunities, including the use of retirement assets, allow for maximizing the current and future benefit to both family and the College of Communication and Education.
