Dean's Message

Welcome to the College of Communication and Education (CME) Website at CSU, Chico. I encourage prospective students, interested faculty, parents, and alumni to learn more about and become involved in our outstanding educational programs.  

The faculty and programs in our college provide students with the resources they need for building rich and satisfying professional and personal lives.  Our college prepares students for a wide range of careers, including graphic design, journalism, teaching, administration, resort management, park management, television broadcasting, speech and language therapy, public relations, strength and conditioning coaching, physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, and public and organizational communication. We also equip students with critical knowledge and skills that will help them create positive relationships, maintain healthy minds and bodies, and participate as engaged and informed citizens and life-long learners in their communities.

As a student you will find that Chico State is a great place for you to get an education and begin your career. Our college offers a high-quality education both in the classroom and through our student clubs, organizations, internship opportunities, international study, and many other activities. As a professional college, we provide hands-on, practical experience to our students in many settings.

Graduates from our programs are highly sought after by employers in business, government, and education, as well as graduate programs in a variety of disciplines.  Our alumni have seen success in their careers across the state and the nation.
